Denise Townsend named Tumbleweed General Manager of the Year

Louisville, KY - February 20, 2010 - Denise Townsend of Louisville, KY was named a 2009 Tumbleweed Restaurants General Manager of the Year at an awards gala on February 6, 2010.

Tumbleweed recognizes top General Managers from restaurants throughout Kentucky, Indiana and Ohio each year. One GM from each of its three restaurant groups is selected annually as that group’s General Manager of the Year and Townsend, who runs Tumbleweed Jefferson Mall Café, won the 2009 honor at the historic Brown Hotel in Louisville.

Townsend, who has been a GM at Tumbleweed for ten years, racked up an impressive set of accomplishments in 2009. Among them, improving her guest check average by 11% over 2008, and reducing her food costs by 2.6%. Townsend scored an OPI of 29.6% and had a mystery shopper average 98%. Fourteen mystery shoppers, in fact, scored her restaurant at 100%.
